High Availability Network
Designing a redundant gateway architecture for school infrastructure.
Running everyday networking and automation checks meant switching between several separate tools and manually piecing the results together. There was no single assistant that understood the local network context.
AIRA OS pairs a local Ollama model with small PHP and Python modules. Each module handles one task — device lookup, log summaries, automation triggers — and stores state in SQLite so the assistant keeps context between sessions.
The assistant now handles routine lookups and summaries that used to take several manual steps, running entirely on local hardware without sending data to an external API.
Keeping each module small and single-purpose made the system far easier to debug than one large script would have been. Running the model locally also meant paying close attention to hardware limits from the very start.
